Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Estimator is to prepare accurate, timely, and competitive estimates on all projects: efficiently interact with subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely bids on all projects.
This is a full-time position with working hours 7am-4pm M-F.
Essential Functions
The duties of this position include the following: these duties may be modified and other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business:
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in responsibilities for pricing and bid specifications. Decisions can bind company into contractual agreements.
Quantify systems on all aspects of specifications, for the purpose of conducting value engineering on costs and product options. Prepare estimates [quantify take-offs, pricing structure] on projects (tenant improvement, commercial, communities and residential).
Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare timeframes, costs, materials, and labor estimates.
Establish pricing and conduct feasibility comparisons on changes and comparisons to cost estimates.
Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to costs estimates. Conduct negotiations.
Consult with clients, vendors, and internal project team members to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Verify subcontractor references and coordinate prequalification requests.
Abstract bids and coordinate subcontractor bid process and results.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with building partners (i.e., subcontractors, architects, etc.)
Participate in presentations to prospective clients when necessary.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Preferred:

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail oriented.
Ability to work and interact with all company departments and external business contacts.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Enjoys dealing with people. Able to work in a team environment.
Solid proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel, knowledge of OST computer applications helpful.
Understanding of Wespac’s Code of Ethics, and implementation into daily activities.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree not required, but preferred.
Five (5) years of bidding and estimating experience required.
Construction experience required.
