CONCRETE NIGHT POUR

Did you know we often pour concrete at night? 94 trucks poured 934 yards of concrete over 7 hours, for just ONE of 4 slabs in the Exeter's Spec building project.

When concrete cures at high temperatures it has a high rate of evaporation, causing unwanted blemishes and cracks, so night is preferable because the temperature is descending. In addition, concrete workers can avoid daytime high temperatures while working on a surface that is exuding heat itself. Lastly, concrete should be put in place within 90 minutes of loading the truck. Depending on the proximity to the jobsite, this can be a big challenge. Night pouring offers a major advantage, no traffic jams!
